Dr. Janice Robertson is Professor and James Hunter Family Chair in ALS Research at the Tanz Centre for Research in Neurodegenerative Diseases, University of Toronto. She completed her PhD at King’s College London and trained as a Wellcome Trust Fellow at McGill University before undertaking MND Association-funded postdoctoral research. With over 25 years of experience in ALS research, her work has advanced understanding of disease mechanisms and therapeutic targets, including through co-founding Neuropeutics Inc. In the plenary “Will That Be Three Lumps or One?”, Drs. Robertson and Michael Strong will consider whether ALS, ALS-FTSD, FTD, and FTLD form a single pathobiological continuum with identifiable disease stages, or represent distinct disease entities.
