
Professor Rob Brownstone

Rob Brownstone is Professor of Neurosurgery at the University College London Queen Square Institute of Neurology in the U.K. He completed his B.Sc. (computer science), MD, and PhD (physiology) degrees at the University of Manitoba, post-doctoral training in neurophysiology at the University of Copenhagen, and neurosurgical training at Manitoba (FRCSC). He was a neurosurgeon-scientist in Canada for 20 years before moving to the UK in 2015. His mechanistic research focuses on how the brain and spinal cord control movement. He is a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences, and a Fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences.
