
Professor Cathy Lomen-Hoerth

Dr. Lomen-Hoerth is a Professor of Neurology at the University of California, San Francisco, where she holds the Richard K. Olney Distinguished Endowed Professorship and directs the Neuromuscular Division and the ALS Center. The ALS Center follows over 400 ALS patients in San Francisco and in six UCSF satellite clinic locations throughout Northern California and Hawaii. She has significant experience running ALS clinical trials and has received grants to study ALS predictors of prognosis, the overlap of ALS and FTD, and more recently the ALS gut microbiome, deep phenotyping and ALS patient stratification, and improving the speed to ALS diagnosis.
