For Poster Presenters

Thank you to all those who submitted an abstract to the 36th International Symposium on ALS/MND.

Next Steps: Submit Poster PDF for Virtual Platform

All poster presenters will soon be emailed information regarding your poster. This will includes the session and poster reference. Please note this poster reference will be different to the paper number that was assigned to your abstract during the submission process.

Please make sure you have registered for the Symposium by 5 September if you are a presenting author. If you are presenting at the Symposium you must register to attend in-person. If you have not registered yet please do as soon as possible.

Poster Sessions

All posters should be on display for all poster sessions. Presenters are requested to leave their posters up as long as possible to allow delegates time to read the posters outside the timetabled sessions.

There will be three poster sessions, all held in the Poster Hall.

  • Poster Session A will be held on Friday 5 December at 17:30-19:00
  • Poster Session B will be held on Saturday 6 December at 17:30-19:00
  • Poster Session C will be held on Sunday 7 December at 08:30-10:00

Presenters are requested to be available by their posters to discuss their work, particularly during their allocated timeslots. Your place among the poster boards will be indicated by the poster reference assigned to your abstract which will also be listed in the programme. This information will be available as we approach the Symposium.

Poster Set-up and Take-down

Set-Up:

Presenters can set up their posters in the poster hall on Thursday 4 December between 16:00 and 18:00 (the registration desk will be open during this time) and on Friday 5 December between 07:00 and 08:00 am in time for the start of the conference.

Please do not leave your poster tubes by your poster boards, please take these with you/take back to your hotel room or these will be moved.

Take-down:

Presenters can remove posters from the poster hall at the end of Poster Session C on Sunday 7 December.

Any posters remaining after morning break on Sunday 7 December will be discarded by the Symposium organisers.

Poster Dimensions

In the poster hall, poster boards will be provided. We recommend using the US poster size ANCI-E for all posters, 44 inches (height) x 34 inches (width) or 111.8 cm x 86.4 cm; size E by American National Standards Institute) in a portrait orientation.

Please note that the US sizes are smaller than the standard A0 paper size therefore posters printed in A0 will be too long for the boards.

This year you will be able to mount your poster using pins which will be available.

If you would like to update or submit your poster PDF please use the portal button below or direct any questions to: abstracts@mndassociation.org.

Virtual Poster Hall

We ask that all in-person poster presenters upload their poster (as a PDF) to the virtual Poster hall for our virtual delegates.

The virtual poster hall will be available for the duration of the event and up to 3 months after the event for all registered delegates to view. There will be no dedicated poster session, but virtual delegates will be able to leave questions and comments for author(s) to come back to during or after the event.

The Poster Submission portal will open on 13 September and we ask that this PDF is uploaded to our Poster Submission portal by 17 November 2025. You can find out more information about how to upload your poster PDF in our Poster Submission Guidelines.

If you do not upload your poster PDF by this deadline, the abstract will be removed from the virtual poster hall but your slot in the in-person poster hall will not be affected. By submitting your poster PDF, you confirm that you are giving permission for the MND Association to share your materials at the Symposium and agree that it can be used as part of the 'catch up' material for up to 3 months after the event as well as being shared across the Associations digital channels.

If you have sensitive data presented in your poster you may create an alternative poster for the virtual platform containing background, methods and discussion. This can be a brief description of the study excluding the sensitive data. Complete posters with results will be expected at the in-person event.
