Abstract Status: Decision emails coming soon
All submitted abstracts have now been reviewed by the Symposium Programme Committee and decision emails will be sent out shortly to corresponding authors.
Please check your emails regularly for the option to accept your presentation slot.

Oral Presentations
- Decision emails will be sent week commencing 04 August with a link to accept the slot.
- Deadline to accept your oral presentation slot is 15 August.
- Slots not accepted will be offered to alternative presenters.
- Next Steps:
- Presenting authors MUST be registered by 5 September, failure to do so will result in your abstract being withdrawn.
- More details containing your session and timing will follow in the coming weeks.

Poster Presentations
- All Poster presenters (general or Work in Progress/Care Practice) will receive an email week commencing 11 August with a link to accept the slot.
- Deadline to accept your poster presentation slot is 29 August.
- Next Steps:
- Presenting authors MUST be registered by 5 September, failure to do so will result in your abstract being withdrawn.
- Prepare your poster material (PDF), more information on how to upload poster materials will be available shortly.
- Poster PDF submission portal opens 13 September 2025.
- Poster PDF submission deadline 17 November 2025.
- Information on allocated Live Poster Session and poster reference (different to the submission number that was assigned to your abstract during the submission process) will be sent in the coming weeks.

Withdrawing an abstract
If you wish to withdraw an abstract please do so within your decision email as soon as possible. Due to publishing deadlines, abstracts withdrawn after 5 September 2025 will still be published in the Symposium abstract book (which is a supplement of the journal Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis and Frontotemporal Degeneration).
Refunds can be made available in the event that you no longer wish to attend due to an abstract being rejected. Please see Symposium registration T&Cs for more information.

Abstract Submission Information and FAQs
Authors will be asked to assign a theme to their abstract in the abstract submission portal. The themes are as follows:
- Epidemiology and Informatics (EPI)
- Genetics and genomics (GEN)
- In vitro experimental models (IVT)
- In vivo experimental models (IVV)
- Human cell biology and pathology (HCB)
- Tissue biomarkers (BIO)
- Pre-clinical therapeutic strategies (TST)
- Clinical imaging and electrophysiology (IMG)
- Clinical trials and trial design (CLT)
- Disease stratification and phenotyping of patients (DSP)
- Cognitive and psychological assessment and support (COG)
- Clinical management and support (CMS)
Yes, presenting author's for both posters and oral talks will be required to pay the appropriate in-person registration fee. Formal acceptance of an abstract is conditional upon payment of the full registration fee. Refunds will be available in the event of an abstract being rejected.
Abstracts will be published in an online open access supplement of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis and Frontotemporal Degeneration. This abstract book will be published online on the Taylor and Francis website and will be found via the Symposium website (symposium.mndassociation.org). Abstracts accepted as ‘WIP/CP’ will be published on the MND Association’s Symposium website.
By submitting an abstract, you consent to give us the license to act on your behalf with the Taylor & Francis group to publish your abstract in the symposium supplement of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis and Frontotemporal Degeneration.
WIP/CP stands for work in progress/care practice. WIP/CP is defined as: preliminary work (little or no data/results), care practice or case studies.
Once the submission deadline has passed, abstracts will be reviewed by the Symposium Programme Committee. We will inform you of the decision in late August and if you have been accepted. This will be followed by a second notification in September which will include specific presentation theme/session, time and date information. Poster presenters will also receive details and instructions on poster guidelines and how to submit their poster material (poster PDF) to our virtual platform for our virtual delegates before the upload deadline of 17 November 2025.
