Please see below for frequently asked questions about virtual attendance of the International Symposium on ALS/MND. If you can't find an answer to your question below, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Pre-Event
Approximately 5 days prior to the conference, you will receive an email via the email address you used to register for the Symposium containing all of the instructions on how to access the virtual platform for the Symposium.
Approximately 5 days prior to the Symposium you will receive an email with your login details for the virtual platform, as well as instructions on how to login. Don't worry if you lose this email, we will send out reminders on each morning of the Symposium. If you do have any issues logging into the platform, please use the 'Support' icon in the bottom right-hand corner of the login page.
Your registration gives you access to watch selected sessions via live stream. Please see the programme to find out which sessions will be available to watch live.
Additionally, you will have access to all of the sessions on-demand. All session recordings will be available to view from 12 December 2024. You will receive details on how to access the recordings after the Symposium.
You will need a device that is connected to the Internet, we recommend a desktop using Google Chrome as the browser. Approximately 5 days prior to the event you will receive all the information you need to login to the virtual platform.
The best way to view the Symposium is through the virtual platform on a desktop device. There is a symposium app but functionality will be limited for online delegates. Information on how to download the mobile app will be enclosed in an email approximately 5 days prior to the Symposium.
During the Event
On each morning of the symposium, you will receive a reminder that will contain information on how to login into the virtual platform. It is a good idea to log on 30 minutes or so before the first session, on your first day of logging in, so you can get familiar with the platform, view the Virtual Poster Hall and connect with fellow delegates.
Don't worry if you miss a live session as all of the session recordings will be available to watch on-demand from 12 December 2024 to 6 March 2025.
We encourage you to ask questions throughout the live sessions using the 'Live Q&A' section within each individual session. Questions will be moderated before being placed into the queue. The session hosts will then ask the presenters during the 'Discussion and Questions' section of each session. We will endeavor to answer all of the questions, but this is time dependent.
Posters are available to view on-demand in the Virtual Poster Hall so delegates can "virtually wander around" at any time during the event. There are no live poster sessions for virtual delegates.
If you experience technical difficulties during the Symposium please use the red 'Support' button in the top right-hand side of the virtual platform. Our team will be on hand to help troubleshoot any technical difficulties you may be having.
Some issues can be solved by adjusting the settings of your camera or microphone. This can be done in the by clicking on your profile picture in the top right-hand corner (next to the 'Help' button) and going into 'My Settings'.
