Steven Finkbeiner, MD, PhD is Director of the Center for Systems and Therapeutics at the Gladstone Institutes and of the Taube/Koret Center for Neurodegenerative Disease Research. Trained as a neurologist and neuroscientist at Yale University, Harvard University and the University of California San Francisco, his research laboratory has focused on understanding the causes and finding treatments for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and other neurological and psychiatric disorders.

The laboratory pursues these goals through the use of genomics, induced pluripotent stem cells, artificial intelligence and robotic microscopy, which they invented, and is engaged in myriad collaborations with others in academia and pharma/biotech.
