Orla Hardiman is Professor of Neurology at Trinity College Dublin and Consultant Neurologist at the National Neuroscience Centre Dublin, where she is Director of the National Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis/Motor Neuron Disease (ALS/MND) service. She provides direct clinical care for over 80% of Irish patients with ALS and is the Principal Investigator on one of the longest running population-based ALS Registers (1994-present).
She leads a research group of over 45 individuals with a focus on applied clinical and translational research in ALS. She is Co-Chair of the European Network for Cure of ALS (ENCALS) and a member of the TRICALS executive. She is an experienced clinical trialist and author of over 380 peer reviewed publications.
