Professor Martin Turner

Martin Turner is Professor of Clinical Neurology and Neuroscience within Oxford University’s Nuffield Department of Clinical Neurosciences, consultant neurologist to the John Radcliffe Hospital, and co-director of the Oxford MND Clinic. Working with ALS patients for 20 years, his focus is the development of biomarkers from neuroimaging and biofluid assays, to accelerate therapy discovery.
He chairs the Research Committee of the Association of British Neurologists. He has more than 220 peer-reviewed publications and co-author of: Fast Facts - Diagnosing ALS, Landmark Papers in Neurology, MND – A Practical Manual, The Oxford Textbook of Neuromuscular Disorders and The Beginner’s Guide to the Brain. He founded and currently chairs the Neuroimaging Society in ALS (NiSALS) which regularly brings together international scientists to share experience, ideas and data in the development of advanced neuroimaging biomarkers.
