Claiming CME/CPD Credits

Royal College of Physicians (RCP)

The 30th International Symposium on ALS/MND has been approved by the Federation of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom for 18 category 1 (external) CPD credit(s). Full conditions of approval are listed in their guidelines.

How to claim: All delegates wishing to claim credits via the RCP will be issued with a certificate of attendance within two weeks of the event.

The European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME®)

The 30th International Symposium on ALS/MND, Perth, Australia, 04/12/2019-06/12/2019 has been accredited by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME®) with 13 European CME credits (ECMEC®s). Each medical specialist should claim only those hours of credit that he/she actually spent in the educational activity.

Through an agreement between the Union Européenne des Médecins Spécialistes and the American Medical Association, physicians may convert EACCME® credits to an equivalent number of AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM. Information on the process to convert EACCME® credit to AMA credit can be found at


Live educational activities, occurring outside of Canada, recognised by the UEMS-EACCME® for ECMEC®s are deemed to be Accredited Group Learning Activities (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

How to claim: Those wishing to claim ECMEC®s (e.g. via EACCME®) should visit the CME desks, which will be located as follows:

  • Riverside Theatre:               Outside the Level 2 entrance
  • Bellevue Ballroom 2:           Rear of room
  • Meeting Rooms 1-3:            Rear of room

To be eligible to claim ECMEC®s, you MUST have your badge scanned at one of these desks before attending your first session every day and again when your last session every day has ended.

You must also complete a short, online questionnaire within one week of the Symposium:
